Four markets, each with its own electrode choices.
Semiconductor and UHP gas and chemical lines
Thin-wall, small-OD tube where one bad weld contaminates the system: start with .040″ or 1/16″ 2% ceriated, lot-certified.
Pharmaceutical, biotech and medical-device sanitary tube
Tube that must look the same weld after weld: 2% ceriated by default, 2% lanthanated for pulsed current or frequent restarts.
Chemical, petrochemical and energy process piping
Larger-diameter stainless pipe and fittings: 3/32″ or 1/8″ electrodes, 2% ceriated for thin wall and lanthanated for higher current or pulsed welding.
Aerospace tube and fluid lines
Fuel and hydraulic lines that need traceable consumables: lot number and certificate of conformance, with custom length, angle and flat to your drawing.

- 1/16″ (1.6 mm): small-bore tube and pipe
- 3/32″ (2.4 mm): mid-size tube and pipe
- 1/8″ (3.2 mm): heavier wall, higher current
- .020″, 5/32″, 3/16″, 1/4″: on request

Besides Grey EWC20, Gold WL15, Blue WL20, Yolo also supply: pure (EWP / WP, green) and zirconiated (EWZr-1 / WZ3, WZ8). The last two are AC grades, not typical for DC orbital welding. Check your WPS before changing electrode type.
